Springfield Missouri Botanical Gardens

To celebrate our 4th anniversary, last weekend Rich and I decided to take a day trip to Springfield and check out the Botanical Gardens.

The park was huge, providing us with a plethora of gardens to look at. Everything from hosta gardens to iris gardens and everything in between. They even had a butterfly hut to go in and check out the butterflies up close and personal.

My favorite section was the Japanese Stroll Garden. Upon entering, Rich injected a bit of humor with "How fast do you think we should walk in here?" Hmmm.

There was some meditation in a zen garden...

...and a beautiful pond with a zig zag bridge. Nestled on the tiny pond "island" was a momma goose tending to her nest.

And of course the day wouldn't be complete with out a bit of malarkey, Snyder style.
