Bridal Cave and a few other stops...

Well, we moved to Missouri. And after getting every. single. last. box. unpacked. Richard and I decided to go have a little fun with the first of many Missouri adventures.

One thing I have learned about Missouri during my short time here, is that there are a LOT of caves. We picked one close to us, called Bridal Cave (named after all of the weddings people hold there), and made a day trip out of it.

Sauerkraut Pizza

For some reason, I have been craving sauerkraut lately. I have been craving the pickely, sour, mouth-puckering goodness of sauerkraut. So Friday night I decided to pick some up at the grocery store so that I could whip up an experimental pizza version of the reuben (veggie-style).

Kiss Me...

Happy St. Patty's Day!

I must be the luckiest girl in town with all of the smooches I get to give this guy!

Keep up with Mr. Macaroni on his Facebook Page.

All Covered in White

Following Winter Storm Q, the snow settled and covered Manhattan in a blanket of frosty white...

Snow Barbie vs. Storm Q

She's baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!

Snow Barbie has been on hiatus for a while due to non-note worthy weather. Last winter only brought a mere 2 inches of snow, but this year is promising to deliver. Snow Storm Q is planning on dumping 10 to 15+ inches on Manhattan, Kansas over the next 24 hours.

School has already been cancelled for our area tomorrow, which leaves me plenty of time to keep everyone updated on Snow Barbie's condition.

Because we are expecting so much snow and my current ruler only measures 12 inches, I headed out to Target to procure more measurement power!

Stencil Art

Once upon a time, a long long time ago, there was a lady who started an art project. But halfway through, she became uninspired and lacked direction. In addition, her life became a whirlwind of unending busy-ness, so the project was left hanging. Unfinished. For two years.

But then, one day, as her free time increased and ideas came, she decided to finish the said painting.

Below, you will find the "befores" of the painting.  As the woman documented the half-finished project, the four-leggers came. All of them. And they had to be documented too.

It's Been How Long?

Eleven months. It's been eleven months since my last post! Grad school has definitely taken a toll on my blog-post production. Good thing it doesn't go on forever. Eventually you go on externship, graduate, and get a job. So now that I have a little more free time while on externship, I hope to dedicate more time and creativity to A Whole Lotta Malarkey.

Let's play catch-up and revive this blog!

Campus in Bloom

Every spring one of the most beautiful magnolia trees blooms outside of Campus Creek Complex at Kansas State University. There are actually two, but the one pictured below is the largest of the pair. Just after the blooms are in full swing, petals begin to fall, creating a soft carpet of pink on the fresh green grass. After staring at the tree outside my classroom window for the past week, I jumped at the opportunity to document it's splendor on my first free day so I could share it with you. And while on campus, I figured I would walk around and see what else was in bloom...

Morning at Marlatt

What do you do when it's 60 degrees at 6:00 am on an early March morning? Well, I don't know what you would do, but I got my butt out of bed and headed out for a walk with Edgar. I have been anxiously awaiting spring's arrival, along with warm sunny mornings, so I could not pass it up.

Edgar and I headed out to Marlatt Park (a.k.a Top of the World) for a windy, but warm morning walk on Tuesday.

We got there just as the sun was coming up...

A Deer Here, A Deer There

This weekend was gorgeous! So the hubster and I spent some of it at Konza Prairie. I wanted to try out my new birthday lens (55-200mm) and soak up the sunshine. We enjoyed a 6 mile hike through the prairie.

Right away, we saw a few deer enjoying an early dinner.
