Konza Prairie

Just thought I would share some pictures back from April that I've been hoarding. Rich and I spent our Easter Sunday on a six mile hike at Konza Prairie, which is a biological research station with public nature trails. It sure was beautiful and the trees hadn't even sprouted their green yet. I hope to get back there soon to see it in full bloom.

(You can click the pictures to enlarge them)

You can see where they had performed a controlled burn

Old man-made watering hole for bison I believe

Trees beginning to bloom

First buds of spring

Who says Kansas is flat? We're nestled in the Flint Hills

Not sure what this used to be for

Chilling trees

We also saw two white tailed deer, but couldn't get close enough for a great picture

I love to use Picnik to edit my photos. They have awesome free editing software and even more amazing edits for cheapo bucks. It beats trying to learn not-so-friendly-user photoshop! ;)

Thanks for looking!
