Winter at the Zoo

I am currently taking an Introduction to Photography course at UFM and each Saturday we take a field trip somewhere to apply what we have learned. This week we were practicing metering and white balance at Sunset Zoo. To be honest, I was so busy looking at the animals and snapping away, that I didn't mess with my metering settings much. It was a cold and cloudy day for a visit to the zoo, but I did get a few animals to pose for me.

The first stop was at the Chimpanzee Hut to check in on little Siri who was born last August. There was a lot of playing going on and lots of shenanigans.

We saw a hyena who wasn't pleased by our presence. He told us so by growling and pacing. Maybe it was dinner time!

There were also tranquil ducks...

Snow Lepoards...
Hammin' it up for the camera!

Amur Tigers...

Bald Eagles...

Bobcats...

A Mane Wolf...

And many many Peacocks!

I believe this one is a baby/adolescent

It was a chilly, but fun day! A great way to spend 2 bucks.

  1. ah, I loved your zoo photos, you have a real eye for photography, something I am afraid I may never develop. Not even sure it's something that can be developed. You see things in a way others do not for sure. I love your pictures, they are amazing!
